SAFETY & COMPLIANCE // CLASS IIIa LASER PRODUCT

SAFETY &
COMPLIANCE
INFORMATION

The CTL-200 is a Class IIIa laser product regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration under 21 CFR Part 1040. Read and follow all safety guidelines before use.

WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage, serious injury, or death.
FIREARM SAFETY

Firearm Safety

WARNING: Follow these precautions when handling a firearm.
  • Ensure all users are trained in the proper handling and use of the firearm, including its function and safety features.
  • Ensure the firearm is unloaded, magazine removed and chamber is clear before installing or servicing the CTL-200.
  • Always treat the firearm as if it were loaded.
  • Always store your firearm so that children and other untrained people cannot gain access to it.
  • Keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction.
  • Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire.
  • Be aware of your surroundings, your target, and what is beyond your target.
TRANSPORTATION

Transportation

Use Disabled Mode (see Double-Tap Gesture in the User Guide) during transportation, storage, or other situations where motion or orientation may unintentionally activate the laser.

In Disabled Mode, the laser will not turn ON regardless of motion or orientation. This is the recommended mode for all transportation and storage scenarios.
LASER SAFETY

Laser Safety

WARNING: The CTL-200 contains a Class IIIa laser capable of causing permanent eye injury.
  • Do not stare into the laser beam.
  • Do not use binoculars, scopes, or telescopes to view the beam.
  • Do not point the laser at faces or eyes.
  • Do not point the laser at reflective surfaces that could redirect the beam.
  • Keep the product out of reach of children.
  • Do not tamper with the housing or internal laser components.
  • Do not aim at aircraft, flight paths, law enforcement personnel, or any occupied vehicle. Aiming a laser at an aircraft is a federal felony under 18 U.S.C. § 39A (up to 5 years imprisonment and $250,000 fine).
  • Do not allow use by persons under 18 years of age without direct adult supervision. Several U.S. states restrict possession of Class IIIa laser devices by minors.
RECREATIONAL USE, PAINTBALL, AIRSOFT & GEL BLASTERS

The CTL-200 is designed for aiming at targets — paper targets, range targets, and training objectives. When used in recreational paintball, airsoft, or gel blaster activities, the laser beam must be directed only at targets, never at other participants. The CTL-200 is not intended for use in live-fire games where the beam may contact other players.

Eye protection warning: Standard paintball and airsoft goggles (ANSI Z87.1) protect against impact, not laser radiation. The CTL-200 emits a Class IIIa beam capable of causing permanent retinal damage in under 0.25 seconds of direct exposure. Standard recreational eye protection does not protect against laser exposure. Never direct the beam at any person, regardless of whether they are wearing eye protection.

PRODUCT CLASSIFICATION NOTICE

The CTL-200 is a firearm accessory and laser sight, not a laser pointer. It is regulated under FDA 21 CFR 1040.10 as a Class IIIa laser product and is intended for use as a weapon-mounted sighting aid for training, target practice, and lawful defensive use. It is not designed or intended for use as a handheld laser pointer or for any purpose other than as a weapon-mounted sighting accessory.

BATTERY SAFETY

Battery Warnings

WARNING: FIRE, EXPLOSION, BURN HAZARD. DO NOT OPEN THE ENCLOSURE OR REMOVE THE BATTERY. DOING SO VOIDS THE WARRANTY AND EXPOSES THE USER TO SERIOUS RECHARGEABLE BATTERY HAZARDS.

Like a cell phone or other rechargeable battery device, follow these precautions to keep your battery healthy, and to prevent leaking, overheating, fire or explosion.

  • Use a compliant 5V USB charger with the provided cable.
  • Keep the battery charged during normal use.
  • Avoid fully discharging the battery.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to temperatures above 95°F or below 32°F.
  • Avoid severe temperature swings.
  • If the unit has been exposed to extreme heat or cold, allow it to return to ambient temperature before use.
  • Avoid puncturing or damaging the enclosure.
WARNING: RECHARGEABLE BATTERY HAZARDS, DO NOT OPEN ENCLOSURE OR REMOVE BATTERY
  • DO NOT use or store the battery near a fire, or heat source.
  • DO NOT dispose of the battery in fire or heat.
  • DO NOT short-circuit, puncture, or disassemble the battery.
  • DO NOT expose the battery to static electricity.
  • DO NOT store or transport the battery with loose metal objects that could cause a short.
  • DO NOT immerse the battery in water or seawater.
  • DO NOT solder directly onto the battery.
  • DO NOT connect the battery directly to an electrical outlet.
  • DO NOT strike or crush the battery against a hard surface.
DANGER: Rechargeable Battery Damage. If the outer metal conductor contacts the inner aluminum laminate film, the resultant short will cause heat, swelling, and possibly a fire and/or explosion.
WARNING: Electrolyte Hazard. If battery electrolyte contacts the eyes, rinse eyes with clean running water and seek medical attention immediately. Do not rub the eyes. Continued exposure of the eye to the electrolyte can cause permanent injury and loss of sight.
WARNING: Disposal Precautions. Before disposal, insulate the battery terminals with electrical tape and follow all applicable federal, state, and local disposal regulations.
WARNING: If the unit gives off an odor, becomes unusually hot, changes color, deforms, or appears abnormal during use, charging, or storage, remove it from the weapon, isolate it from flammable materials, and contact CTL.
